Highland games

I posted the pictures from the 2005 Pullman Highland Games on my photo album(the link is in the column on the right) for anyone who may be interested. To the right is a pick of me sporting a Kilt as I prepare to hurl the barrel at the bottom. I felt pretty good about my showing this year, I actually made it to the last caber. I picked it up but could'nt turn it, it was a beast.

Donald Miller

Donald Miller is an author that I really enjoy and I just ran across a speech that he did at Harvard on the Veritas Forum( something that I read about on my Brothers Blog). I haven't finished it yet but so far I'm really enjoying it. He's one funny guy who has some real fresh perspectives on things.

I got kicked out of a Pac -10 football game

This happened last week but I think its funny enough that it still deserves to be published. I was really hoping to be able to make it to the Coug vs. Stanford game so I was pretty disappointed to discover it was sold out. However, Ashley one of the students living In the XA house, said I could use her sports pass to get in the game. ( basically an optional student pass that gets them into any athletic event). I was a little skeptical that this was legal but she assured me that it was ok. So I thought I'd give it a shot and if it didn't work out, no big deal right.
Well it turns out that it is a big deal to use someone else's sports pass. I handed the lady at the gate Ashley's card to get in. She looked at me gave the card a glance and simply said " This isn't going to work"(luckily for Ashley we look nothing alike). I was expecting at that point to be able/asked to leave. I expected wrong. I was taken into the stadium to see a series of no less that four people who simply looked at the card and at me to be absolutely positive it was not my card. I finally got taken to a room with several police officers in it, was briefly interrogated, then was officially kicked out of the stadium (you know, the one I wasn't in in the first place) with instructions not to come within 100 Ft of the stadium concourse or I could be arrested! So I went home played video games, watched a movie, cleaned my room, and enjoyed an unexpectedly quiet afternoon. We lost the game anyway, to quote the announcer "The Cardinal fell on us."
