Banjo's
I've been noticing over the past few years that banjo seems to popping up more often in popular music. I thought it was interesting and worth note. Just a random observation.

You may be right. :) My youngest son was home last week from NYC, and he asked me to go in the studio and record a banjo track for one of his funk originals. I like to record the old fashioned way where you get to play a whole tune and hear the melody while you put on the banjo track. Of course, he made me record the high tech way for this. He puts up yellow markers on the computer screen and has me play wildly in the right key between the markers. Then he goes in and fishes out the sections he wants and loops them, then reinserts them around the vocalist and the other instruments.
It sounds very professional and fits the genre--but I'd rather record the old fashioned way. :)
