A funny instance

Just a moment agoI planned to do a serach for coffee on google but instead of typing it in the google serch bar I accidentally typed it in my browsers addres bar. My browser went straight to the starbucks site without missing a beat. I found it humorous when I figured out whaty happened :)

New Orleans Relief 06

Well New Orleans was intense. The work was hard, we spent about 8 hours a day "mudding out" houses. Basically we would go into houses that had not been touched since the flooding and clear out everything furniture, appliances (including refridgerators), clothes, toy, ect. It was intense work but fulfilling and after the initial shock the first day it was even fun. The worst part of the job though was moving fridges. Imagine a fridge in the deep south that has not had power for 6 months, was flooded, and was full of seafood. It called for the utmost of care, large amounts of duck tape, and some demolition. In case you did not know many times in order to get a refriderator into a home the doors are taken off of it, this was not an option thus demolition was the only answer :).
I was taken aback by the raw optimism of people there. All the owners and residents I talked to were full of hope despite their circumstances and the obstacles that they still had to overcome. Strangely enough the people who seemed most downcast were those who lived in parts of the city that were unaffected by the storm. New Orleans in general was up and running again. It still has a long way to go but It'll get there. I'll post my pictures form the trip soon. As well as a few random stories.
